Independent Candidate Mohan Sharma Enters the Race with Unemployment as Key Issue

Kurseong – Independent candidate Mohan Sharma has stepped into the electoral race, making unemployment his central issue. Addressing a press conference held at a hotel on Hill Cart Road, Sharma outlined his election agenda and priorities.

Speaking to the media, Sharma clarified that he is not contesting the election to divide votes or support any political party. Instead, his primary goal is to highlight and resolve the growing problem of unemployment among the youth in the region.

He emphasized that unemployment is not just an individual problem but a serious concern affecting entire families. “If even one member of a family earns a stable income, it can significantly improve the financial condition of the household,” Sharma stated.

Sharma pointed out that despite years of governance, the issue of unemployment has not been adequately addressed. He believes that focusing on job creation and empowering individuals can bring long-term economic stability to the region.

He also stressed the importance of working closely with tea garden workers and local communities to understand their challenges and provide practical solutions. According to him, strengthening the rural economy and supporting workers’ families will play a crucial role in overall development.

Highlighting his vision, Sharma said that his approach is not just political but solution-oriented. He aims to bring real change by prioritizing employment generation, skill development, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

With this strong focus on unemployment, Mohan Sharma is positioning himself as a candidate committed to addressing one of the most pressing issues faced by the people of Kurseong.
