Kurseong, April 5 – Independent candidate Mohan Sharma, contesting in the Kurseong विधानसभा constituency, addressed the media today at Hotel Mohini on Hill Cart Road, outlining his vision and political stance.
During the press conference, Sharma clearly stated that he will not engage in vote buying or align himself with any political party’s agenda. “Politics should be a means of service, not a business,” he said.
He criticized previously elected representatives for failing to adequately address the issue of unemployment, emphasizing that youth employment remains the most pressing concern. Sharma highlighted his commitment to creating local job opportunities, promoting self-employment, and strengthening the economic condition of young people.
“Young people should not be forced to go abroad for work. If we implement the right policies with honesty, unemployment can be significantly reduced,” he added.
Sharma also affirmed that regardless of the election outcome, he will continue to serve the people. “I believe more in social service than in politics,” he stated.
Concluding his address, he called for free and fair elections and urged all stakeholders to put an end to practices like vote buying, ensuring a clean and transparent democratic process.
