Kurseong, April 5 – Independent candidate and young entrepreneur Mohan Sharma has stepped into the election arena with a strong commitment to tackling unemployment. Addressing a press conference in Kurseong, Sharma stated that his primary goal is not to divide votes but to create employment opportunities for the youth.
Sharma, a resident of Darjeeling More, Siliguri, highlighted his experience of over 12 years in the human resource sector, during which he has helped provide jobs to more than 5,000 youths. He emphasized that unemployment remains one of the biggest challenges in the region and requires immediate and practical solutions.
“I am not here to cut votes or support any political agenda. I am here to ensure that young people get employment,” Sharma said during the interaction with the media.
He further explained that skill development is key to solving unemployment. According to him, establishing skill development centers in the Kurseong region can empower youth and make them job-ready, ultimately improving the economic condition of families.
Sharma also stressed that if even one member of a household earns a stable income, it can significantly uplift the entire family. He added that his approach is focused on long-term solutions rather than temporary political promises.
Highlighting his vision, Sharma said that he is committed to working continuously for the welfare of the people, regardless of the election outcome. He also mentioned plans to address issues related to tea garden workers, promote organized development, and bring sustainable growth to the region.
Concluding his statement, Sharma assured that his campaign will focus on real change, emphasizing employment generation, youth empowerment, and economic progress as his core agenda.
